I once had a colleague in a Tier 1 Investment Bank who would call Wednesday the 'hump day'. Over time, I wouldn't say I liked counting down the week until TGIF (Thank God It's Friday). I felt it was soul-destroying. Thank God I escaped that environment. I love what I do as an Executive Coach. It's so much fun.

Thankfully, I don't count down the days. Instead, I look forward to getting a blank canvas each morning to create my version of learning, development and accomplishments. Despite loving what I do, I do something fun each day that's unrelated to my work.

My Side Hobby

It's a real flex to be a tourist in your city and still get excited when you see something with centuries of history behind it. That's been me in 2024; I've been like a big kid in a sweet. I'm still wowed by what I see, learn and share. I feel like I'm at the tip of the iceberg; there's so much to see and do.

I write a blog on London and will pick a new place to visit and write about each week. Over time, I've noticed the difference it's made to not only my writing but also my overall mood and happiness. I've learned a lot from setting up my Instagram Page and uploading pictures about London, especially in the Square Mile.

I had no idea my interest would grow as I started building my page. What's been so exciting is the bridges that I've built, fine-tuning my development areas, which have helped enormously in my day job. It's working a treat.

Even after my Instagram account got hacked into in June 2024 and I couldn't retrieve my old account, I started all over again without getting too worked up about it. I knew I could start over again and make it even better. I was humbled by the support I received from my followers. I'm taking each day as it comes and building my community again step by step.

Thrive Instead Of Plodding Along

When you enjoy your work, you'll grab life with both hands and thrive instead of plodding. This week, one of my clients did just that. Let's call her Tara. Tara comes from a stable industry but is creative at heart. A couple of weeks ago, she decided to do something she enjoyed. As a creative, she's created a whole bunch of things for the festive season.

She overhauled her approach to her business model and has started seeing the sales counter go up. It wasn't just about sales but improving her outlook on life and her career. It's also boosted her

1 Confidence

2 Self-esteem

3 Fun

Four overall mood

5 Developing a positive mindset

6 Dreaming big

7 Aiming High

Make It WOW

You don't need me to tell you but look around you. What do you see? I see people who happily plod along and hope that something magical will happen one day. Something will happen, but not how they want it to be. Leave the middle of the road to those who play small.

Shift gears with patience. I'm hoping you have high hopes for 2025. Having a positive outlook and setting goals for oneself is always positive. It's important to remember, however, that the future is uncertain and that we can't control everything that happens.

It's essential to be flexible and adaptable and to focus on what we can control. It's also important to be kind to ourselves and set realistic expectations.

You can't afford to plod along and expect A+ results in 2025. Write down below how you are planning on making 2025 memorable.

Thank you for your attention.
